Veeam and Vmware Replication....

Post by karlochacon »

hi guys

We are a datacenter who provides services with Veeam Replication, now a customer is thinking about replicate their site but using Vmware Replication....

do you see any problem having two different products replicating to our Datacenter or let's say 1 vCenter?

important Veeam is replicating a group of Vms and Vmware Replication is going to replicate another different group of VMs

thanks a lot

Hi Carlos,

I don't see any issues using two different VM-image backup products, as long as you don't target these jobs to the same VMs at the same time.

Thanks!

If we're talking here about one customer, the disaster recovery management would be complex, in case of using two different products that are unaware about each other.

Thanks.

Carlos, out of curiosity, what are their arguments for selecting VMware Replication over Veeam B&R replication you're providing services with?

It's money argument, a customer has the chance to pay for veeam and the services for DR and the other can only pay for the services
