Backup of accentuated VM

Post by rct »

Hello,

I tried to backup an accentuated VM : "[SYS] Marité (Mantis)" and it was impossible to back it up successfully.
I tried to clone it and I renamed it "[SYS] Marite (Mantis)", the same job worked.

Envirronement :
vSphere 5
Veeam 5.0.2.230 (64bits) patched
Edit : vSphere Server appliance

Could you investigate on this issue please ?

Thanks

I hadn't noticed this limitation :(
It would be nice to have an integrated error message in Veeam when you add such VMs or when it fails to back them up.

Thank you for the answer.

Filename with German "Umlaut"

Post by gegs2 »

[merged]

Hi,

i have problems to restore files include German umlaut in filename (ä, ü...)

I go to the file restore wizard and select the file. Then i get following error:

Failed to copy file 'filename'
Client error: No such file or directory
POSIX: Failed to open file 'filename'
Failed to open file 'filename' for reading.
Server error: End of file

Have somebody an idea to solve this circumstance.

Regards
Gerhard
