Veeam 7 Copy Job - File verification

Post by Giacomo_N »

Hi there,

I'm playng with the new copy job fetaures from our primary NAS repository to the seondary in another building with 1gbs fiber connection (LAN).
The backup is 1.7TB, the copy job complete successful, but now is starting a "backup file verification", it took a long time to finish and take 60% of the bandwith, is starting 7 hours ago without a percentange state.

Can I stop it doing this backup file verification or is it an essential part of the process?

Thanks in advance

As a first investigation step, kindly, check in the Advanced Target settings of BCP whether the Health Check is enabled and what schedule it has.

This option is responsible for heath checking of the latest restore point located at target repository. Generally speaking, it’s nothing but a CRC check that is run against the latest restore point – the check sums for the restore point is calculated and then compared with the previously stored ones.

By default, the health check is scheduled to run on the last Sunday of month, though, it can be changed in whatever way you want to.

More information regarding it can be found in the corresponding User Guide (p.118).

Thanks.

Thank you Vladimir, i've read the user guide before upgrade to V7 , but, is it normal to take 9 hours to check only 1.7TB of data? The process seems to be too much slow..

Actually, it seems to be pretty decent numbers for a NAS device – approximately 53 Mb/s. Thanks.
