HP Performance Manager integration is built into the collector service component, providing 20 out-of-the-box graphs. The graph template files are generated dynamically, so that data from your virtual infrstructure (host, VM , network and disk names, for example) are added to the templates. Because of this the graph templates are created on the collector system, then copied to the HP Operations Manager or Performance Manager server, instead of being installed through a separate package.
The Performance Insight report pack is a separate download file for a few reasons. First, it allows us to more easily perform updates to the report pack by keeping it separate from the main download package. It also let us have multiple versions of the report pack without adding files that we didn't expect the majority of users to install (even if the majority of customers had Performance Insight, they'd be unlikely to need both the Windows and UNIX versions of the report pack).
Also, we tend to package UNIX files separately so they can be downloaded to a UNIX environment without first running a self-extracting archive on a Windows system to get access to UNIX install files. The HP OM for UNIX policies (contained in an .SD file) are downloaded separately for the same reason.
