Case reference #07361803
Hi all,
We'd like to insert a new feature request in order to be able to enable the immutability on an existing (not-immutable) Backup Repository and/or to migrate the existing backup restore points from a not-immutable BR in another immutable BR.
The same request is also valid for Veeam Backup for Azure.
Should I to open the same thread also in the related section of the forum?
Thanks!

Re: Feature request: Enable immutability on an existing BR/Migrate old restore points in another immutable BR
Hi! Thank you for the feature request.
There’s no need to post it in the Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure forum — we will consider it for both products.
Could you please share more details about why and when you need to enable immutability retrospectively?

Re: Feature request: Enable immutability on an existing BR/Migrate old restore points in another immutable BR
Hi Lyudmila,
Since there is no way to migrate the existing backup restore points from one Backup Repository to another, enable instead the immutability on the existing Backup Repository where they reside could be a valid workaround.
We're talking about RP that have until 7 year of retention, so it's not possible to keep those until reaching their expiration while recreating another "backup chain" in a new immutable Backup Repository for the same protected resources
The scope is to keep only one "backup chain" per protected resource on a immutable BR.
Thanks.

Thank you for sharing. We will look into how we can help resolve such cases.
