Update Veeam Backup for AWS

I was taking Veeam for AWS for a test drive and ran into the issue where it cannot be updated without first joining it to Veeam Backup & Replication. Did I misunderstand that Veeam for AWS is a stand-alone product? I am not sure how it could be used for any length of time without the ability to patch and update it. Is there another way to update it?

Hi Steve,

Veeam Backup for AWS is not a standalone product, treat it as a vSphere/Hyper-V proxy. It must be integrated with Veeam B&R for licensing, upgrades and updates.
