I'm testing out restoring a Oracle DB backup from an image level backup from Vmware using application awareness (NOT using the Veeam Oracle Plug-in). I have a ticket open already but wanted to get some insight from others here. I setup a Oracle staging server that's setup with Oracle 19c and the account has full blown access to the staging server. When I use the option Restore application items > Oracle databases....then select the DB > "Export as RMAN backup" - it errors out after an hour or so (70%-80%). This is a very small DB (40GB) on our performance tier. Looking at the logs we see:
--deleted by moderator--
I looked at the staging server and the CPU/Memory performance doesn't go over 75%. Support is telling me to look at the port requirements outlined here: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
The staging server should not have access to the iSCSI network. And when I select the option "Export database files" to a different location it exports fine without issues within 10min.

Re: Oracle Restore via RMAN restore
Hello,
Please don't paste the log snippets, it's not a support forum and we cannot effectively analyze logs and troubleshoot technical issues over the forum posts. Looks like you already isolated the problem: export works fine when you're specifying another target location. It's a good finding and I'm sure that our support engineers will find out the root cause. As a next step, it would be best to check port requirements and inform our support team about the result.
Thanks!

Re: Oracle Restore via RMAN restore
There's no port issues. Both the VB&R and the oracle staging server are on the same subnet with no firewall in between.
