Hi R&D. I've read a few posts (mostly from 2021) discussing backup targets for the various forms of MS-SQL backups (via Agent, Plug-In, etc).
Am I correct in thinking the Veeam MS-SQL Backup Plug-In still can't send backups to object/blob storage (we'd like Azure Blob) for the initial backup or as part of a Copy job? If that's the case, has there been any real movement on when that might become available - v13 maybe?
Likewise, SQL backups through the Veeam Windows Agent can use object storage, but isn't as good at handling stun issues as the plug-in (because it's not hooking into SQL Studio)?
I'm trying to see how we can improve our SQL backups as we migrate to Azure, but the multitude of methods and their pro's and con's are making it a difficult task.
Thanks, Rob.

Re: SQL Plug-In Backup Direct-to-Object Enhancements
Hi Robert,
All application plug-ins can use object storage as a target for primary and secondary backups.
Thanks!
Not maybe, it is a part of v13ratkinsonuk wrote:that might become available - v13 maybe?

Thanks!
