Veeam B/R Permissions

Post by kuhn »

We are looking to delegate some roles for our backup/restores. I'm looking to allow our DBA's to be able to start and stop jobs AND also be able to perform restores on individual jobs. It looks like the only way to give them the ability to do those tasks is to make them an administrator. I don't want them to be able to have that much access to the other items. Is there a good way to be granular on permissions without full out access?

Hi Kuhn

You haven't shared with us what kind of database.
But today you can give a lot of control (backup jobs and data recovery) directly to your database admins through our enterprise plugins. Please see this example for Microsoft SQL: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120

More granular control directly in Veeam Backup & Replication backup console may be released in future versions of the product.

Best,

Thanks. This is for SQL databases. The plug-ins are not really an easily manageable thing for us right now we were looking to use the console to manage such items.
