deleting tables from business view

Every time I try to delete a table from the business view, I lose some features like viewing business elements.
Also, the view becomes corrupt and I can no longer connect to it from my report.
Is there some step I am missing

I think we figured it out. The tables must be removed from data foundation first, then the business elements must be removed. We think it worked
