Error on backup copy job after migrating to V12
I recently migrated from Veeam 11 to Veeam 12, and since then, I've encountered errors with my backup copy jobs. The errors specifically mention two NAS shares.
The error messages I'm receiving are as follows:
Error on \NAS04\OVMDUMP:
Failed to process NAS backup copy task
Error: Item [Data from 03/23/24 2:31:01 AM restore point] is locked by running session SMB_744 [File Backup]
Processing finished with errors at 3/23/2024 2:32:26 AM
Error on \NAS04\SHARE:
Failed to process NAS backup copy task
Error: Item [Data from 03/23/24 2:30:58 AM restore point] is locked by running session SMB_744 [File Backup]
Processing finished with errors at 3/23/2024 2:32:30 AM
It seems that the items are locked by a running session named SMB_744 [File Backup]. Howit can be troubleshoot and resolve this issue to ensure successful backup copy jobs?
Workaround with clearing DB tables didnt help as they already empty.

Looks like a technical issue and it's best for the Support Team to check this out. I do remember a few known incorrect behaviors with similar items to this that were on v12 GA and I think 12.1 GA, but I'm pretty sure it was solved in 12.1.1.56; did you upgrade just to base 12.1 or to 12.1.1.56?
Please confirm if you're on the latest patch and if so, open a support case. Be sure to include logs as per https://veeam.com/kb1832 and use the 1st radio option, select the job in question, and include the logs when you open the case.
Regarding the SQL edits, please note that manual edits of the database without Veeam Support supervision is not supported, and for these tables in particular I strongly advise not to attempt manual deletes as it likely will cause issues with other operations.

I upgraded B&R to 12.1.1.56 yesterday, and now I have big problems with our NAS Backup Copy jobs. This error occurs:
Failed to process NAS backup copy task Error: Item [Data from 04/12/24 6:00:24 AM restore point] is locked by running session NAS Backup Museum [File Backup]
One of the NAS Copy jobs actually went through, but the log is littered with these lines, over and over:
Backup metadata update completed successfully
Copying restore point 2024-04-12 06:45:39 (0 B): 0 files (0 B) transferred at 0 KB/s.
I am sure there are 100 or so of those lines. I started a "Retry" of one of the other jobs that failed, and it produced those two lines in the log until I stopped and disabled the job.
So now I probably have an incomplete restore point, since I stopped the job. Something is clearly wrong with NAS Backup Copy now.

The problem has been fixed.
Apparently it was an error in the database, and it was fixed by executing a database script.
I have done a Retry on the jobs, and they worked perfectly!

I got the same problem. How did you fix it perjonsson1960? Open a case and run scripts from support to clear database?

We logged a support request and got a script too. After running the script now backup copy job from NAS works OK. Just FYI the script did not clear data from database tables but as I understand it introduced new code to GetNasBackupCopyTransferInfosByShortTermId procedure.

We have exactly the same problem with our Secondary backup jobs of our NAS.
A case is opened (07241264) but the support doesn't seem to be aware of the know issue, despite having provided a link to the forum subject.
Can anybody help us with this case ?
