Excluding IPC$, admin$ and C$ - Netapp
Hi all,
I have added a NAS filer in the form of a Netapp. The backup job has successfully found all the shares with and successfully completed the backup. However, it has also found the 3 default admin shares (IPC$, ADMIN$, C$) because the backup of these 3 shares fails the whole job is then registered as failure. How can I exclude these admin shares please?
I have excluded them using the below paths and no joy:
‘\\ip\ipc$’
And also in the way they are presented in the job when failed: ‘hostname\hostname_CIFS:\ipc$’
Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you
K.

Hello Kitkat,
Thank you for your post! Did I get it right: you are using Veeam B&R v11 and NetApp was registered as a filer for nas backup jobs? Do you store any content on these shares or the were preset but you do not use those?

Hi Dima,
Yes, I have configuring a Netapp as a filer within B&R v11 and we have 30+ shares on this filer, I have managed to successfully back these up. However, the job results have flagged 3 native admin hidden shares which are failing, I just need to exclude these. (we are not using these: IPC$, admin$ and C$)

Kitkat,
Thank you for update and sorry for the delay, can you please share the screenshot of your exclusion configuration? I believe the best way would be to add such shares to the exclusion list for the job, so let check why exclusions are not working.

Hidden and admin $ shares will be skipped by default with following product update.
Until then, please bear with current setup.
/Thanks!
