Feature request - Restore Folders from Archive Repository

Opening a topic to make others aware.

Currently there is no option to restore folders from file share backups when files have been moved to the archive repository due to versioning.
Not even multiple file selection is an option. Only per-file basis restore works.
There is no Powershell workaround (yet).

In other words, be aware of using the Previous File versions option to archive. Restoring them might take a lot of your precious time.

I've been told that development team is aware of the situation and are working on a solution.
However no ETA known.

Maybe one of the Veeam operators can give us (regular) updates in this topic about this request.

I also found this out today. I need to restore like 600 files from the archive, one at a time. This is a very poor experience! I hope Veeam can add a feature to fix this issue. Even if we cannot the directory structure back, multiple selection of files would be a big improvement!

I'm missing to possibility to restore a folder and it's contents from the archive too.
Important would be the option to choose a specific restore date and time so that Veeam B&R restores the version of files and folders that were valid at that time.

Mind me asking, if you need the files only from the archive to be restore or, in case some files for the set date are still in the backup and not in the archive, you would like to get those restored too? Thanks!

My idea is to restore a folder and all files to the exact state it had at the selected point in time. Most likely keep the present state and restore to a different location/folder name.
That would include files/folders that were there at the selected time even if they are still in an active backup repository and not the archive.

I'd also need the ability to restore folders and/or multiple files within a folder from Archive. Most of our restore requests are for historical versions of files. This is typically when their backup data is already archived. This feature request is critical for our organization.

Agree. I have some folders with 1000's of files and folders and 1 at a time doesn't really work. As much as I want to use File Share backups, this was one thing I noticed in testing that would be beneficial.

We have 1000's of files in unique subfolders that were deleted and are only on the archive repo.

Well that's unfortunate. We recently upgraded to V12 hoping to finally start doing cloud backups with NAS data now that you can copy to archive for recent files, but not being able to restore a folder from the archive is a huge issue.

We have folders we might need to restore that have file counts in the 4-5 digits that would be disastrous if we had to do each file individually.

+1 to get this feature added.

Without the possibility to restore an entire folder from Archive actually makes archiving obsolete. How is Veeam imagine that we (the users) can restore thousands of files from Archive?
There is no possibility to select Archive as a restore point either. So this means that if a single file has to be restored, then you have to click 4 times : once to select the file, second to add it to restore list, third to select "Archive" as restore point and fourth to click "OK". Now multiple that with 4916 (that's the number of file I have to restore for a single share).
I cannot say that is time consuming, I can only say that Archive is useless!

@Veeam - please easy our misery here. Either provide a PowerShell workaround, either provide a way to browse Archive, or (BEST) implement that functionality to perform a folder restore from Archive. As far as I can see this feature was requested from 2020 and nothing has been done!
