Post by george.jame »

I want get backup from a folder in my linux server /server/wan
Thus I want use File share option , indeed my backup repository is DataDomain for all VMS now What is your suggest about Cache repository ?
1- Select DataDomain as cache repository ?
2 - Set Backup IO control on faster ?

Hello george.jame,

Cache repository is used for changed file tracking (it stores the information about latest known source state). You can select simple repository to store the cache but DataDomain is not supported (it makes change file tacking slower do to it's deduplication engine). I/O control defines the amount of threads for reads from the source, if the underlying hardware is fast enough - you can set it to maximum, if that's a low-end nas device - I'd recommend to set to to medium value or above. Cheers!
