Files / Folders do not get moved to Object Storage

Post by yardbird »

Hi Everyone,

We're facing a strange Problem that in all our File Backup Jobs the Files and folders don't get moved to the Object Storage (Backblaze S3 Compatible), eventhough the Jobs are configured as SOBR. Or, mybe, i'm just looking at the wrong place.

So the Backups work locally and I see them under the Backups-> "Disk" Tab, however not under the "Object Storage" Tab. There's also no offload task.

Thanks in Advance and Regards,
Severin

Hi Severin,

File share backups will be moved to the object storage only if it is selected as an archive repository in job settings. Also, you can find more information about available storage repositories for file share backups in this section on our help center.

Thanks!

File Share Backups do not use the Capacity Tier of a SOBR.
Object Storage for Fileshare Jobs is only supported for archiving old and deleted files.

You can find more details what object storage can store in this page:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... positories
The object storage repository added as a Capacity Tier in SOBR is not used for storing NAS backups. To archive NAS backup files to an object storage repository, assign it as an archive repository when creating a file share backup job.
