instant file share recovery share permission

Post by restore-helper »

Hello,

a small feather request:

When doing an instant file share recovery, with a Microsoft word file in this share. The word file can’t be opened.
The reason is that share is created with the full/change permission. Word recognises this and tries to create a temporary file. But the mounted backup is read only and the creation of the temporary file fails.
The right thing to do would be to create the share with only read permissions. (Then word recognises this and does not create a temporary file.)

Would it be possible to create the share by default with read only permission, since the backup is always read only.

case is 04805352

Greetings.

Noted and will consider this change for the following update.
By default we set "Allow Everyone" access to newly mounted share(unless altered at Access Permissions step of Instant Recovery wizard), which includes "Full Access" and "Change" - you can go to mount server's C:\VeeamFLR\veeamfse_xxxxx and change permissions on a mounted file share the way you like.

/Thanks!

Actually, we want to just make the published share writeable as the next step, as to make it the proper "instant recovery" functionality and not just "publish" as it is today.
