Linux Proxy for NAS Filer
Hi all,
I'm considering if we can use Linux (REHL) as general purpose proxy for file backup, the data source is NAS Filer (NetApp FAS)?
I checked the Veeam Documentation but it is not clear that Linux can be used or not... (https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120)
I can only find this but it is absolutely not clear: The backup proxy for file backup and Veeam agent and storage system snapshot integration is a Microsoft Windows-managed server. For object storage backup, you can also use linux proxy servers.
what is it mean "you can also use linux proxy servers" ???
Best regards,
Louis

Re: Linux Proxy for NAS Filer
Hi, Louis
That means when backing up Object Storage, you can use both Windows and Linux-based backup proxy servers.
While for NAS Filer backup, only Windows-based backup proxy servers are currently supported.
But we're working to add Linux-based proxy support for this in our 2025 release.
Thanks

Hi!
Is it still the case that you can't use a Linux proxy to back up NAS filer?
