Hi,
Just posing a question around how to relocate the file backup cache folder as we are currently running very low on disk space, and have created a dedicated SSD for this.
Is there a registry setting that can be set instead of movning the disk & directory and then reasigning drive letters? We are currently running VBR 12.1
Thanks,
Martin

Re: Moving file backup cache folder
Hi Martin, welcome to the forums.
Just to confirm, you want to relocate the cache folder to a new volume/location or just start it fresh on the new SSD?
The latter is fine and it will be rebuilt if you just point at the new location, for the former you can just use any copy method to move it to the new location and update the cache location and that should be all you need.

Re: Moving file backup cache folder
Hi David,
Thanks for the welcome, I've been lurking in the background for several years.
So I tried to repoint the file backup cache, but it fails as the meta data is "missing", probably down to previous capacity issues. So how can I repoint the and start a new meta data chain, if I can not
I 'm looking at copying the whole disk structure to the new disk and changing the drive letter. A bit excessive but may be the o nly way forward
Thanks,
Martin

Re: Moving file backup cache folder
Hi Martin,
Thanks for the update, though at this point I'd ask if you could create a Support Case on this one and upload logs from the failed job after the move. It shouldn't require anything special beyond just moving, and I start to worry we might be talking about different items, so let's have you open a Support Case and please include logs from the job that failed after the move.
Support should be able to help figure out what's going on here and get you sorted.
