nas backup a sql express

There are some limitations or suggestions about using NAS backup witha a SQL server express connected to the VBR server?
Do you suggest to install a SQL Standard or Enterprise Edition if I'm backing up a 'big' file server?

NAS backup does not use SQL Server for its catalog at all.
