Hey there,
searching for "ndmp" in this forum i couldn't find anything related to my question and since ndmp is used with nas-servers i opened this topic here.
I just wondered why ndmp backups can only use tape as a destination? Since we need to configure a gateway server for the ndmp backup, it should be possible to save the contents of a fileserver with ndmp to any backup repository or deduplication appliance that is configured within veeam.
Is this something on the roadmap for future releases?
many thanks!

Re: NDMP Backup to "Backup-Repository"?
Hello Oliver,
NDMP backups are supported by tape jobs only. We don't have any sort-term plans to support NDMP to disk. For file share backup you can use newly released nas backup functionality available in Veeam B&R v10. Cheers!

Re: NDMP Backup to "Backup-Repository"?
Just to add to this, we have many customers using VTL (Virtual Tape Library) to use our NDMP dump capability to disk. The most common VTL providers that I have seen customers use are StarWind VTL and the Amazon AWS VTL.
