Created support case #04659107.

Hi! I am implementing the client's Netapp NAS backup on the new version 11. Unfortunately, the new file backup tasks will not be performed correctly each time communicating the errors below. Any ideas what's wrong?

From the error above I would say this is an account/permission issue.

So I'm running into this same issue. Is there documentation somewhere that lists what permissions we need in order to perform NAS backups?

Is there a solution?
I'm running in the same Problem.
We have Veeam 11 and a Netapp FAS2650 (9.7P10) with four CIFS Shares.
The used User have “admin” right on the Netapp.

The solution is to properly configure permissions - at least this was the solution in the OP's case. Please contact technical support for assistance. Thanks!

Hello KK,

Can you please confirm that you can access the file share mentioned in the error from the proxy server with this account? If that works correctly, please raise a case and share the case ID with us. Thank you!

I am having the same issue working with NAS backups in a customer environment. What is the account that needs to be give access permissions to the share? I don't see anything in the file share backup job to add user permissions. We are currently able to backup up one share on a NetApp filer without issue but get the errors on this thread on a file share backup for a different share that was added yesterday.

Hello Dean,

This account should have access to all file shares you are going to backup from NetApp system (read permission should be enough for the backup, write will be required for recovery). Thanks!

Permissions were not the issue. This was a backup from a NetApp CIFS share and the volume that was not working did not have the setting on the NetApp volume to "make the snapshot directory visible" to clients checked. Once I checked that and reran the backup it worked. So the job told the NetApp to take the snapshot for the backup but the Backup Proxy could not get into the snapshot directory on the mounted share to back up the snapshot.
