Powerscale: scan takes an eternity & backup job finally connects to unavailable address

Hello,

We've seen the following issues with Powerscale NAS (Isilon):

1) During scan, we see that for every unreachable address an attempt is made which has a timeout of 6+ minutes. Scanning for a volume which is member of several SmartConnect zones, one of which with many unavailable addresses (from the point of view of respective proxy), therefore easily takes half a day. Can this timeout be decreased, therefore scanning speed improved? Why wait over 6 minutes each time? (Case # 08106987)

2) Then, even though reachable and unreachable addresses (and therefore entire SmartConnect zones) were determined by scan, creating a backup job in our case consistently tries to connect to unavailable (from that network) SmartConnect zone/DNS name, unless we configure preferred networks. So why do we scan in the first place which gives it exact information what is available and what is not? If the scan was only there to determine what the potential zones and IPs are, then why try to connect to each one and produce timeouts in the process?
(This is considered another case by support actually, which we will soon start working on)
