VBR11 & NetApp ONTAP : How to backup only .snapshot ?

Post by Maxime »

Hello,

I tried to backup the .snapshot directory but it seems that VBR do not see this directory. VBR backup only regular directory.
I want to backup only .snapshot because lots of services always access files.
My .snapshot is created by script launched by a scheduler that stop services and then make a snapshot and finally restart services.
Only after that and if scheduler do not return error, I start a backup.

I use NAS filers to declare my NetApp in VBR.
I can see all mount point.
How can I say to VBR to take .snapshot and childs but not others regular directory and files on root directory.
On NetApp, I set .snapshot option to be visible.

Hi,
for NAS backup you can use the Storage Integration as documented here:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
Let us know.
Thanks

Ok, I missed something.
I understand now that VBR make his own snapshot which is deleted directly after backup.

Can I get somewhere the status of the snapshot with Veeam Backup Entreprise Manager REST API ?
Because if VBR take a long time to finish the whole job of backup. services are down for a long time !
I must restart services on servers just after snapshot are done, not after VBR finish to take all data.
