No SVMs listed while connecting to NetApp 2750 ONTAP cluster

Post by bmartins-EMCDDA »

Dear community,

We are using the latest Windows Server and Veeam B&R versions and were trying to add a NAS filer for NetApp 2750 ONTAP cluster backups.

It connects correctly, we can select which SVMs to back up in the wizard, but they are not displayed in the "Storage Infrastructure" tab from Veeam and, probably because of that, the backup job detects zero files and folders.

Do you have any idea why this happens?

Regular SMB backups work correctly and the ONTAP version is 9.10.1P3. It should not be a permissions issue since we have already tried using the standard admin account from NetApp.

Thank you!

Go to the storage in the Storage tab and run a new rescan, you will likely see the issue marked in the statistics.
You can as well look into the "History", you can find it at the very bottom left as a small icon. Then go to "System" there and have a look at the storage rescan type statistics.

Our support can help as well with this.

Thanks for your reply, Andreas!

That is the thing: there is no error in the statistics. It says "CIFS exports supported for backup from storage snapshots are found on storage na2750 using SMB client from proxy Backup Proxy".

I already have a support request opened, so I can wait for its resolution. I was just sharing it here as the community could have already faced this issue.

Maybe only NAS support was selected and not the VMware processing (NFS/iSCSI/FC)?

That did the trick, Andreas! Now I can see the SVM, volume, and snapshots in the Veeam console.
However, the NAS filer backup job still can't find any files or folders.

Thank you!
