Hello,
We are managing several hosts through Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM) and recently upgraded our veeam backup proxy after upgrade Veeam to the version 12.2.
While most backups are working as expected, we have encountered an issue where VMs on one particular host consistently fail to back up.
To troubleshoot, we moved one of the affected VMs to a different host, and the backup completed successfully.
However, when we moved the VM back to the original host, the backup failed again. We tried to move another VM to this host, the backup also failed.
We tried to reboot the KVM host, Veeam server, OLVM + backup proxy, the problem still exist.
On the backup proxy, there are the following error logs:
[MOD] Debug logs removed per forum rules.
A support case has been created with Veeam Support - Case #07438828, we were recommanded to engage with OLVM support team.
Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance !
Regards,
lil

Re: Backup VMs failed on one host after upgrade the Proxy (oVirt KVM)
Hello, please keep in mind this is not a support forum for environment-specific issues. Kindly continue working with our Customer Support team and follow their recommendation. Since the issue is with the one specific VM, it is logical that you should engage the hypervisor vendor to troubleshoot what's wrong with it.
Also, given it is a single VM only, I would try simply recreating the VM and attaching existing disks to the newly provisioned VM. Maybe it will solve the issue for you, in case it's just some unusual non-default VM configuration settings that is causing this.
Thank you

Re: Backup VMs failed on one host after upgrade the Proxy (oVirt KVM)
Hello Gostev,
Thank you for your response.
To clarify, the issue isn't with a specific VM but rather with one particular hypervisor host. As I mentioned earlier, the problem arose after upgrading the Veeam backup proxy, and no changes were made on the hypervisor side.
Following the recommendation from the Veeam support team, we have also contacted the OLVM support team for further investigation and are awaiting their reply.
I posted the issue on this forum to see if anyone else has encountered a similar problem or has any suggestions for further investigation.
Regards,
lli
