I have a simular issue but with our proxmox environment.
Everytime a backup fails is shuts down the server. I've looked through Veeam and anything that relates to shutting down the vm has been disabled, but yet it still shuts down.
I have checked the proxmox logs and it only shows the worker requesting the vm to shutdown.
How can this be stopped? If the backup fails it stays in the console, but not shutdown a server.
We had it shutdown a mission criticle server which caused utter chaos.
Any information would be greatly received.
Thanks

Re: Unexpected server shutdowns after failed backup
Hi @weeble, welcome to the forums.
I've split your message from the original topic to a new one as this issue is a bit different than the previous topic.
I'm sorry to hear about the challenges here, as the behavior is not expected to bring down production servers.
