Configure HTTP Proxy for Azure Backup

Post by ThierryF »

Hello guys,

We are testing Veeam for Azure module. At time being, the appliance has been
deployed successfully in azure. We can connect to the
Veeam for Azure console without any problem.

Now, starting the configuration steps, we are blocked at adding Azure Account step :
from the firewall logs, we see the appliance trying to connect to azure directly,
bypassing http-proxy settings (we set http_proxy from /etc/environment and /etc/profile and
rebooted the appliance). As result, no service account can be added and we cannot continue
in confiruation steps.

The documentation does not contain any topic related to Http Proxy configuration steps.
Any doc/points /setps we forgot ?

Thanks for your inputs !

No official answer from support but from a contact within Veeam, option should NOT be supported (yet ?) ...
Checking with our security team for granting direct internet access thru white url list ....

We did not test this so it would require additional testing to assure everything works fine. This is why I advised working via support.

For those who run into this in the issue. Currently, this is indeed not supported. We are looking into ideas for the future on supporting it but no ETA as of now.

Hi,
I had the same problem.
VBR11 using proxy environment in windows server, and I can't get Azure credential.
When Packet capture did on the add account screen, it was communicating(destination) to the internet instead of to the proxy during authentication.
Of course, I have configured everything in the manual. But, It was bad.
veeam-backup-for-azure-f59/configure-ht ... 71379.html

I'm waiting for the support.

Thanks,

Hi Shansaku,

It looks like you are discussing this issue for Veeam Backup & Replication. This is different as this topic is around Veeam Backup for Azure.

I would suggest opening a support case if u didn't yet to look into possibilities for Veeam Backup & Replication.

Thanks!
