Exclude VM from Application Aware processing
Hi All,
I have setup backup for Microsoft Azure. I have selected the Application Aware Processing. Where can you exclude a VM from Application Aware Processing, or is this not possible?

Re: Exclude VM from Application Aware processing
Hi,
Can you clarify how you included the virtual machines? Are you using tags or specific virtual machines as a source?

Hi NIels,
No, in the backup policy "all resources" are choosen with one excluded vm.

Re: Exclude VM from Application Aware processing
Hi Oscar,
If you exclude the VM from the policy, then nothing should happen with it (no snapshot/backup/application aware processing).
I hope this resolves your question.

Re: Exclude VM from Application Aware processing
Hi Niels,
That's not what I want. If you use Vbr, you can put vms in a job and then select application aware. Then you can exclude machines from application aware. So if I want a machine not being Application aware backed up the only thing I can do is put the machine on the exclusion list on the all resources group, and then create a new policy for a machine that I do not want to have application aware processing on?
So it is an on/off switch for all targets in a policy?

Re: Exclude VM from Application Aware processing
Hi Oscar,
Yes it is indeed on/off for all targets. If you do not want that machine to use it, then a second policy is the workaround.
We'll see what we can do to enhance this in the future (similar to VBR style).
Thank you.
