Hi,
Pretty new here in the forum. I'd like to submit a feature request.
Szenario similar to this:
veeam-backup-for-microsoft-azure-f59/vb ... 90919.html
It would be amazing if we could specify a custom port in the "Connection Type" section (Networking) of azure appliance. This would offer much more flexibility in the deployment, for ex. behind NAT. Private connections are ment only to go through VPN (as I understand) and public connections through internet require public IPs in the first place and traffic going out elsewhere than through firewall does often not align with company guidelines.
In different VBR/VCC deployments there are options to set custom ports - deploying cloud gateways for example.
Hope this finds its way to the product.
Cheers!

Re: Feature Request: Custom Port on Connection Type
Hi! Thank you for your request. Could you please provide more information about the configuration you are using or plan to use? Are you planning for the appliance to operate in a private deployment?

Re: Feature Request: Custom Port on Connection Type
Hi, sure I'll try to explain as specific as possible. Please do not hesitate to correct my perception of VBA deployments.
So, we are a service provider offering baas. We have a backup server with Azure plug-in installed. This server deploys and connects to different VBAs in different customers Azure subs. In azure, we secure and inspect network traffic with a firewall (in and outgoing), so there are exceptions made to f.e. service tags so that VBA can backup all the ressources. If needed (most of the time) we can copy the backups offsite to our infrastructure (SP side).
We prefere not to use VPNs from baas infrastructure to customers azure vnet, as VBA connections are well encrypted through https and this keeps things simple. Some customers have already https services natted behind firewall/public ip so that another public ip is needed for the connection betweend VBR and VBA, as port 443 can not be changed. If we could define the port VBR should connect to VBA, we could do magic on the firewall and nat custom-port to https.
Hope this helps understanding our need.

Thank you for the explanations. We will see what we can do to address this.
