Health Check Not Available - KB4383
I can't see an option to enable Health Check for our Azure jobs. They are configured with encryption. Does this disable the option to enable a health check? Conscious of this due to https://www.veeam.com/kb4383

The health check option is available in the policy wizard under the Settings tab. You can verify if it is enabled for a backup chain by opening the "Restore Points Popup" from the protected data page using the "State" column (Healthy or other states).

Re: Health Check Not Available - KB4383
Thanks Nielsengelen however when i open settings for any of my jobs there is no option for a health check and when i check the Available Restore Points i don't see a column named "State" at all. I went through the process of configuring a new policy and the health check option is not available there either. Our repositories are configured with encryption enabled and i see a note here https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbazu ... tml?ver=40 about health checks on encrypted backup chains.
If it is a case that you can't run health checks on encrypted backup chains, i am curious to know what the best practices are here?

Hi Martin, looking into this now and I will report back once I get internal feedback on why u can't see this. It could be a bug but I will know the details later on.

Re: Health Check Not Available - KB4383
Hi Martin,
Health check can certainly be triggered against encrypted repositories, so if you cannot it enable it, then please open a support case. The note in the UG refers to the metadata of the backup file, it , indeed, cannot be used with the health check tasks. This should not be a stopper, since the metadata should not be affected by this data loss issue described in the KB.
Thanks!

Re: Health Check Not Available - KB4383
Ok have an update here. I guess it was something silly but i do think there is a case for some improvements in the UI.
We have been updating the Veeam Backup for Azure appliance via the built in updater. We have it integrated with Veeam B&R and i only discovered from the support call that this isn't supported and we should be updating via Veeam B&R. I had to install the latest CU, install the Veeam Azure Plugin, update the appliance from v3 to v4 and then i was able to enable health checks.
My suggestion would be to disable/notify the built in updater if the appliance is integrated with Veeam B&R if it is not a supported way to update the appliance.
Also, Veeam Support were excellent here and gave a resolution within 20 minutes of me logging the ticket.

Perfect, thanks for the update! And yes, we've discovered this possibility for improvement when a backup appliance is managed by a backup server. In our next release, we will have a notification message in the Updater UI to help our users in a similar situation.
