2 x USB Repository

Post by dtwiley »

We've just started using USB storage for a client (at their request) and I'd like some guidance on the best way to proceed.

We're running backup copy jobs to USB once a week with a 5 week rotation (so 5 drives), so I've created a new repository on the first USB drive and checked the "is backed by rotated hard drives" option. We also understand that it will track drive letter changes as different drives may present differently.

But here is the problem, the drives the client has purchased are too small so we need to run two sets of USB drives. Obviously I can create two repositories in the same way, but then when the disks are replaced the following week, how does it know which USB drive goes with which repository?

Hi,

Veeam tracks drives and keeps corresponding records in its database.

Thanks!
