Active Directory Recovery

Post by atta »

Hi,

We have 3 Domain Controllers and we want to be able to restore AD on one DC and re-sync it with others after restore. In hyper-v 2008 R2 you have to take bakup within VM (system state) and after that with 3-party tools to be able to continue sync it with rest of DCs. If you didn't do that your sync may not work. How is this working in Veeam. How to protect Domain Controller? How is it with system state?

Another important server is SQL? How to restore single SQL database and is it working U-AIR in Hyper-V?

Hello, Atta. Actually, all of the questions were already discussed in detail in other existing threads on this forum.

Please look through this huge topic for details on recovering a DC: Veeam B&R v5 recovery of a domain controller (nevermind the version in its title). Also the following topics could be helpful:

And you can search for more.

SQL AIR for Hyper-V will be available in Veeam B&R v7.

Should any additional questions arise, feel free to ask.

Thank you for information but I can't find anything about domain replication. I dont need to read many pages and pages to try to get this answers. Only thing what is bodering me is that replication. Is there a problem with re-sync after restoring DC win server 2008? It should be fixed with 2012 but 2008?
