Add Hyper-V host to existing cluster no SCVMM

Post by ipro-bgardner »

Veeam B&R 10.0.1.4854

How to add a Hyper-V host to an existing cluster?

When I right-click a cluster there is no option to ass server.

When I right-click "Hyper-V Clusters" there is an option to add a server. After going through this wizard Veeam correctly associates the new host with the correct cluster but the host has red X.

No SCVMM involved.

Much googling has returned results but only related to SCVMM so the suggestions are irrelevant.

Hi Brent

It sounds like you have added the new node as a standalone HyperV host?

A rescan and going through all steps in the properties (in the Veeam console) would have detected the new node in Veeam. We have a description about the process in our user guide: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/archive/ba ... erver.html
If the Hyper-V host is added to a cluster that is not managed by SCVMM, right-click the cluster and select Rescan.
To ensure that all Veeam Backup & Replication components on the Hyper-V host are up to date, right-click the Hyper-V host, select Properties and go through the steps of the Edit Hyper-V Server wizard.
Thanks
