Automatic Component install

Post by stmchapman »

Sorry if this has already been asked, my google foo is not working today.

We are in the process of adding a bunch of new servers to our HV Failover cluster (we use SCVMM) and I was wondering if there was a way to automatically install the required Veeam components on the new host. At the moment, Veeam discovers the new host as part of the cluster however I have to go into the properties to get the components to install or backups for VMs residing on the host fail.

Is there a way that this could be automated?

Thanks

Mark

Mark, this can be achieved through powershell scripts. Personally I am working on something around CHEF cookbooks to allow for this in a more scalable deployment model but the powershell is the easiest way to achieve this.

Thanks, Michael

we've decided to push the packages out with SCCM targetted at our HV hosts.

This seems to have worked really well
