Backup Copy question

We have a small customer with a Hyper-V server that backups to a USB HDD with a daily rotation. We would like extend the backups to 2-4 weeks, and we are thinking in adding a NAS and use Backup Copy, while keeping the USB HDD daily rotation for off site storage. Do Backup Copy works for what we need? I read about it, but I'm not sure. Any suggestions will be appreciated. We are running VBR 8, and have access to v9 in case it's necessary.

Hi Daniel, yes, you can perform initial backup to NAS with required retention and then use backup copy to get data on USB HDD for offsite rotation. This is possible with your current v8 installation.

And thanks for replying. From what I understood, the NAS will have Full + Incremental backups based in the retention policy we apply. Now I ask, does the USB drive will only have full backups since it's being replace daily?

Backup copy is able to maintain an incremental backup chain on each of the rotated drives.
