Hi,
I need advise on below.
I'm running full backup everyday. I have 14 tape to rotate everyday 1 tape for 2 weeks. for example set A- 7 Tape and Set B -7 tape. for Week 1 i use set A and week 2 i use tape set B tapes. when come to week 3 i use set A but, backup to disk success but duplicate to tape show waiting for tape. When i mark the set A tape to free then the job start writing on tape set A. How do i set the job keep append the backup on Set A tape on week 3 without mark as free.
Thanks,
Krishnan

Re: Backup disk to disk to Tape
How did you configure the retention policy in your media pool.

Re: Backup disk to disk to Tape
Reading your question again I see that I misunderstood you; first of all you won't be able to append backups to the tapes as soon as you remove them. This is so because the media set gets closed as soon as you remove the tapes.
And if you set the policy to never overwrite then all tapes are protected forever so you won't be able to reuse them.
So if you want a longer retention period than 2 weeks you'll have to buy more tapes. If you want to overwrite the tapes in week 3 you'll have to lower the retention period to something below 2 weeks.
