Can I encrypt my backups?

Post by MrJH »

Hello,

We currently use the free edition of B&R, version no. 8.0.0.2030.

Is it possible to encrypt the compressed backup files? If so, is there also a robust method for decrypting backups on a server which doesn't have B&R installed? I'm thinking if a number of servers completely fall over, and backups have to be restored.
Are there any limitations with the encryption? Not supported on removable media, etc.

Many thanks.

Yes, you can do that. Please take a look at this on-line user guide page > VeeamZIP Options. And here is the comparison datasheet > Editions Comparison. Hope this helps!

I know it's a shameless plug, but if you need an easy way to schedule backups in VB&R Free Edition, take a look at this blog post written by yours truly. Thanks.
