Cannot delete checkpoint created by Veeam

Post by hyphen »

Hello,

We have a simple setup. Single Hyper-V host running Server 2016 and hosting two VMs running Server 2016. I noticed today that both VMs have a checkpoint created at the time the Veeam backups run. Both VMs have a checkpoint with the same date and time. If I right click the checkpoint there is no option to delete it. The icon looks a bit different than a manually created checkpoint.

I checked the reports on the Veeam Backup server and saw that the job running at the time those checkpoints were created failed. Both VMs have the same error "The RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA)"

Subsequent backups are working but the checkpoint is still there.

Can you please advice me what to do with those checkpoints?

Thank you!

Nevermind, I pressed the Delete key and was able to delete them.

Thank you! Four years later, and I was pulling my hair out trying to figure this out, not realizing I could just hit a key on my keyboard! :D
