Client only installation

Post by tobia »

Hi, I have a backup server connected to my hosts, but I don't want to use it to restore items.
For example, this server doesn't have outlook to export exchange items to pst... so I would like to install to my personal computer a client. Is there a client-only installation available for veeam that connects to the main backup server?
I tried to have a look to the main iso distribution, but I stoped on the first installation screen because the main backup&repliaction installa seems to be a full-server installation. Am i right?

Thanks

Ok, but can I install the full version and link it to my backup server? Or I must connect to the backup server for every restore job? Thanks

When you install Veeam B&R server it connects to the SQL Server database. Multiple backup servers cannot share the same database. If you want to have a separate console for restore operators, then I would suggest using Backup Enterprise Manager that has a web UI and can be used to establish remote connections.
