what should be the correct "maximum concurrent task" for a Repository if the hardware is a
Synology RS3617xs+
Xeon D-1531 2.2GHz
8GB of ram

It’s a 6-core cpu so in theory it is 6.
But based on expierence a Synology also runs much more than just the smb service for the repo.
So there won’t we a valid answer in my eyes.
I’d set the limit to 12 or so, look at the cpu load and reduce the tasks step by step until it fits my needs and the system is still responding well.
Of course keep on mind that you should only do it this way if you can allow the Synology to run at maximum as other service may become unavailable if cpu is at 100%. If you can’t afford it you can simply go from down to up.
