DAG EXCHANGE 2016

Post by lucaverri »

Good afternoon everyone
One client has a 2016 DAG exchange on 4 nodes.
He is currently backing up all 4 nodes.
If I install a fifth server putting all the passive databases I can then restore all the mailboxes?

It would be better before the backup job to insert a powershell that makes me the databases on two active nodes and two passive nodes. I would only back up the two passive nodes.

Hi Luca,
Yes, having a node with all-passive DBs is a right choice. And yes, you will be able to restore all mailboxes from passive node backup - make sure to set Application-aware image processing options under Guest Processing tab of your backup job. Check guide here.
/Cheers!
