Failed to search installed package on Hyper-V Server Core 2008

Post by brudarko »

Case ID: 04028165

Any ideas?

I'm trying to add a Hyper-V Server Core 2008 to Veeam Backup Replication 9.5 Update 4.

Veeam Installer Service and Veeam Data mover are running on the server.

Already tried to uninstall all packages but no success.

This happened after I tried to upgrade the components to V10, but they are actually not compatible. So I installed V9.5U4 on another machine.

Please, help me.

Hello,
as far as I see, you are running an unsupported OS. Server 2008 without R2 and SP1 is not supported anymore.

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=100
Any ideas?
I see two options: upgrade the environment or keep 9.5U4

Best regards,
Hannes

Actually, the error is on 9.5U4.

There is manual for deployment of the components manually?

ah, sorry, I misread it because almost every question since release of V10 is regarding V10 :-)

yes, there is a way to deploy the installer service manually (post252056.html#p252056). but I recommend to do it together with support.

Hyper-V server is a free download, so why not upgrade it to a version that is actually supported by Microsoft :D
