Feature Request: Schedule Configuration Backup

Post by TheOnlyWizard17 »

Would be nice, like other Jobs, to be able to schedule a Configuration Backup After another Job. So, for example, the latest up to date config would get backupped right after all work for the day (Job-processing) is done, eg. chain it to run after the last Job completed...

Hello.
Thank you for the request. Configuration backup doesn`t have much impact on production backups though.

Though, you can write a simple script using these commandlets (get-vbrconfigurationbackup, start-vbrconfigurationbackup) and set its as a backup job post activity.

I don't have PS console handy, but the script should like more or less like this:

Code: Select all

asnp veeampssnapin
get-vbrconfigurationbackup | start-vbrconfigurationbackup
Thanks.

I'm aware we can "solve" my request like that, but with all due respect, that wasn't the request :-)
It's a handy feature I use alot for the Jobs, so I bet it's just a small feat to enable the same for a config job aswell...

Bart, we understood your request.
The point is there are not lots of such requests, feature value doesn`t seem high and workaround is easy. All requests are useful though.
Thank you for the feedback!
