Feature Request: Support for VMM Semi-Annual Branch
Dear PMs,
please add the support for now released 1801 and future semi-annual releases of VMM. As you are utilizing PowerShell under the hood, I guess it will even work now, but is not supported as confirmed via a case.
Kind regards
Martin

The 1801 came out after Update 3 release, so we're going to test it out and support it down the road. Thanks.

It would be nice for Veeam to do testing on Windows Server Insider Preview builds and System Center previews so that new releases can be supported quicker. Also assuming testing doesn't find any issues that require changes on the Veeam side, it would also be nice to not have to wait for the next Veeam update to get "official" support.

We do that, but typically we discover quite a few differences between preview and GA builds which require us to re-conduct numerous tests. It would be nice for Veeam to do testing on Windows Server Insider Preview builds and System Center previews so that new releases can be supported quicker.
We're still planning to test it soon to check whether it doesn't break anything. I will update the topic, once I have more information. Also assuming testing doesn't find any issues that require changes on the Veeam side, it would also be nice to not have to wait for the next Veeam update to get "official" support.
Thanks.

Hey nmdange,
What version of Hyper-V are you running with the 1801 release? (Just out of curiosity...)
Thanks
Mike

Re: Feature Request: Support for VMM Semi-Annual Branch
I have Hyper-V hosts running 2012 R2, 2016 and 1709. I actually haven't upgraded VMM just yet, even though VMM 2016 doesn't officially support 1709. I'm also thinking of taking two dev hosts and running Windows Server Insider Preview builds on them now that Microsoft supports in-place upgrading preview builds. When I have time to get to it

Hi, are there any updates on this? Is anyone running SCVMM 1801 / Hyper-V 2016 with Veeam 9.5 without issue?
Thanks,
James

So far I haven't hit any issues but it's been less than a week.

Re: Feature Request: Support for VMM Semi-Annual Branch
Hi mkobes,
I believe it is being run through tests but we do quite some testing on every VMM release so it takes some time (as you can read above). If there are no issues, we will let you know asap. However, if some modifications are required, it will most likely be supported in a next release.
Cheers
Mike

Mkobes,
It will be supported later on, as part of other MSFT releases.

Re: Feature Request: Support for VMM Semi-Annual Branch
@Mike Resseler,
Is there any update regarding SCVMM 1807 support?
In our acceptance environment we are running SCVMM 1807 and we haven't experienced any issues with Veeam build 9.5.0.1922.
We are waiting for a statement from Veeam that SCVMM 1807 is officially supported before we upgrade our production SCVMM from 1801 to 1807.
Kind Regards,
Jeroen

Hi Mike,
Can we expect the release of Update 4 this year or more likely early 2019?
Thank you for the feedback.

Jeroen,
I can't give you any ETA. As with Veeam, we only release when all of our tests are ok. Sorry about that
