Hi All,
VEEAM Backup & Replication is taking full Cluster Shared Volume sized snapshots (in my case 10TB) rather snapshots which represent the size of the VHDs (on the CSV). I am using the SAN VSS Provider (Dell) so this may be normal behaviour. However the fact remains that the large snapshots are causing VMs to crash during snapshot creation. Is there any way of setting VEEAM to make snapshots that are the collective size of VHDs on a CSV? Or are there any other best practises which are worth considering?
Any help here will be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Davo

Hi David,
A few questions around your setup:
* Are you using a offhost proxy?
* Are we talking about 2012 R2?

Hi Davo,
Then the ideas that I have can be:
* Hosts are not patched fully (and I mean not only Windows Update, because that is not enough I'm afraid. There are hotfixes needed also)
* There are inconsistencies between the firmware, installed version of the Hardware VSS on the hosts/ proxy
But instead of guessing, please keep working with our support team. They hopefully will see what is wrong in the logs
Sorry I can't help further
Mike
