Dear Veeam Colleagues:
I'm running veeam free (updated patch R2 #4). I have 5 vms on hyper-v all list with proper Used sizes/provisioned size with the exception of 1 vm listing 0.0kb for both sizes. This can't be backed up. please help!
Greatly appreciated
Makhan

Re: Help! Peculiar veeam behaviour listing vm 0.0 kb
Hello Makhan,
Please make sure that this VM has supported virtual disk type (check our release notes document). If everything looks good, then please contact our technical team for further investigation.
Thanks!

Re: Help! Peculiar veeam behaviour listing vm 0.0 kb
Thanks for your quick reply.
This is really the bizarre part.. This vm is running a similar 2012 R2 like other 3 vm (just one vm is running centOS). This is my first time using veeam on hyper-v. I simply installed the base veeam free and then found out about patch#4. Seeing #4 was inclusive of all previous patches I didn't install patches 1,2,3 separately. Wondering if that has anything to do with these 0.0kb sizes on this just one vm.
Should it matter which guest Applications are running in this guest OS? For example this vm is running Plesk? Plesk is know to hog and control resources..
many thanks,
Makhan

Re: Help! Peculiar veeam behaviour listing vm 0.0 kb
1. All patches are cumulative, so you should be fine using Veeam B&R v7 patch 4.
2. It doesn't matter what applications/Guest OS you're running inside the VM. There could be something wrong with VM configuration that prevents Veeam from backing it up. Job debug logs should shed some light on this and our technical team would be glad to assist you with logs review.

Great news ! I have a fix.. as you mentioned in your earlier post it turned out to be a vm settings issues on Hyper-V.. This particular VM was pointing to a secondary harddrive that had been long removed.
Many Thanks,
Makhan
