[Feature Request] host check when doing a quick rollback

Post by Steven Bricklayer »

Hi,

I' use Veeam 9.5 with an Hypver-V 2012 R2 environement.

When I perform a Quick Rollback, Veeam is targeting the host wich was hosting the VM during the last backup.

Like everybody we are using the dynamic optimisation, wich move VM between host.

Today I've to put backup the VM on the host before performing the Quick RollBack.

I think Veeam should be a able to look at the new VM location before restoring.

Thanks

Hi Steven, provided the VM was backed up when residing on a cluster node, Veeam B&R should be able to find it even in case it has migrated to another node and restore to original. I recommend contacting support if you see a different behavior.

Hi I've been searching and cannot find any information that explicitly confirms if Veeam can backup servers on Hyper where, the Hyper V is configured for Dynamic Optimization which allows the VMs to migrate between Datacentres via stretched cluster.
