I have one file (on backup copy repo) that is marked with _Q but I believe it could be orphaned (I have job set to keep 1 Q file and there are 2 existing). Is there are way to make sure?

Re: How to know if backup file is ophaned?
If you view backups on disk under "disk (copy)" and then right-click on the copy job which created the archive restore point, then click properties, do you see both quarterly restore points in the list? If you only see one that means only the one is known to the VBR database and the other is indeed an "orphaned" restore point.
