How to move replicated VHDX from a drive to another?

Post by Simon_LBC »

I have a replication job between my 2x Hyper-V servers.

On my destination (replicat) server, I have two local drives (C: and D:). The current backup job destination for VHDX storage is the C: drive. However it's pretty full now and I would like to move some of my replicated VHDX from the current drive to the other (D:).

I have edited my Veeam replication job and I have edited the custom path for those VHDX but unfortunately, as it's indicated in the prompt when you save, this change of path is only applicable to "newly added VM" to the job.

Obviously I don't want to trash my current job and start a new one. So is there a way to move the replicated VHDX to the current drive to another???

Hello,
moving would require storage migration including changes in the Veeam replication job. As the wizard indicates, that is not possible.

Hi Hannes,

Is there another way to do this even if it requires to re-sync that specific VM completely? Something like removing that specific VM from my replication job (it have a dozen of VMs), then delete the replicated storage for this VM (manually I guess), then after that add it back to the job with the new path? Is that possible??
