HPE Alletra MP Integration

Hello guys,
I am just trying to figure out, how to integrate Alletra MP B10000 within Veeam v13.
I just want to use it for snapshot only jobs. No backup from storage snapshot at all since I dont want to use Off-Host proxy.

I have two systems within peer persistence and one streched cluster of 10 nodes of Hyper-V 2025.

From backup perspective the scenario is exactly as I like - pretty beautiful and simple.

1 Failover Cluster /2 Alletras/ 10 nodes. all storage connected through FC SAN

Backup mode is On-Host since I want to use all nodes within cluster.

At this moment I have Veeam Server (VSA) as a VM on different cluster. As a primary repo I have Alletra 4120 configured as a Veeam Infrastructure Appliance.
Secondary backups goes to multiple StoreOnces
Backups / Copies / Restores goes through dedicated 10/25Gbps LAN and works flawless

I dont want or need off-host proxy, since I consider HW VSS provider and all those stuff around to be just so complicated...there is absolutely no reason for me to maintain it.

BUT - How can I manage all those nice2have Alletra MPs Virtual Lock / Secondary Snapshots Orchestration etc....
When I add storage to the Veeam all I can see are just added systems but no VVs etc...so Iam not able to create any of snapshot only jobs etc...
From what I understand, the problem might be that I dont have any Off-Host proxy which can be added during Alletra MP configuration?
What I dont have at this moment, since Iam in the middle of building whole infrastructure is Windows Mount server. Might be the one which can help me?

Hi Martin,

The storage integration features you’re referring to (Help Center – Integration Types) are only available for VMware backups. They are not supported for Hyper-V backups.

So thats it. I was aware that it might be unsupported but I wasnt sure how about v13 since the documentation has changed and I just misunderstood the whole thing..
